Thank you for purchasing the IMIRROR brand electricmosquito swatter (Model BZ001).

Out of an abundance of caution and our continued commitment to user safety, we are initiating a recall of this product
due to the discovery of potential fire hazards under specific usage conditions. Please carefully review the following safety notice and take appropriate action.

🔥 Potential Risks Identified

The device uses high-voltage electric grids to eliminate insects,which inevitably generate electric arcs and sparks during operation. In environments where flammable gases (such as leaked kitchen gas) are present, these sparks may pose a fire risk.

In long-term use, grease vapors, sprays, and insect remains can accumulate on the grid, forming a flammable residue that is difficult to clean completely. This increases the risk of ignition, especially in the narrow grid gaps of the swatter.

We also received three identical fire photos on June 1, 2024, and July 29, 2024, submitted to both IMIRROR and another brand (WBM) by the same buyer. This suggests possible misuse of evidence or malicious intent. However, we believe the majority of fire-related complaints from other users are real and concerning.

For the sake of all customers’ safety, we have decided to issue a unified recall.

⚠️ Immediate Safety Instructions Do not leave the device unattended.

The mosquito swatter must not be left charging or operating without adult supervision. Shut it off when leaving home or going to bed. Install a smoke detector nearby and have a fire extinguisher accessible.

Not suitable for vulnerable groups.

Children, the elderly, and individuals with pacemakers or other
implantable medical devices must not use this product.

Stop use immediately if any abnormal signs appear.

Unusual heat, noise, frequent sparks, or fire indicate malfunction. Even if your device works normally, we still recommend you stop using it and request a full refund.

Understand the nature of spark generation.

Every insect killed by the swatter may cause a small flame. This is normal but makes it a fire risk device similar to a lighter. Any use outside recommended environments is at your own risk.

Clean the grid regularly.

Insect remains and sticky residue may accumulate between the fine grid wires. Clean thoroughly after each use and air-dry before powering on again. If residue remains visible or sparks become unusually frequent, the product may have reached the end of its safe lifespan (typically 2–4 years).

Never use near high-risk areas like kitchens or bathrooms.

Humidity, grease, sprays, and water droplets can cause electrical short circuits and increase fire risk in such locations.

We request that you immediately stop using the
device and apply for a full refund through the purchase platform
(Amazon). We had planned to respond to each customer individually, but per Amazon’s policy, all returns and refunds must be processed through their official recall system. We are actively working with Amazon, and they will send out further emails with instructions. Please check your inbox and follow their return steps accordingly.

The use of high-voltage arc to burn insect remains makes this product inherently more demanding in terms of safe handling
than standard appliances or lighters.

Yet, electric mosquito swatters are still the only effective tool that actively targets and eliminates mosquitoes, helping prevent bites and vector-borne diseases.

We sincerely apologize for not being able to respond to every inquiry individually. As a small company, we are currently handling an overwhelming number of emails and calls.

Nevertheless, IMIRROR is committed to putting customer safety first. Even though this recall poses significant operational challenges, we wholeheartedly accept and support every customer’s request for a return and refund.

As a U.S.-based brand specializing in electric mosquito swatters, we remain committed to developing safer, more effective products. We are also working toward localized production of certain models in the United States to better serve our customers.

Though we may fall, we will rise again.
